It is a Cold March evening on a farm in South England .outside,2000 sheep are standing in the fields .Most of them will give birth to lambs( 羊羔)in the following weeks . Inside, their shepherds(牧羊人)are sitting in the Warm watching TV.
You might think that the shepherds are neglecting their duty by resting in comfort .However,if you look at the television more closely ,you would see that the shepherds are protecting the sheep.
It is part of an experiment to try to increase the survival rate of new lambs . In the past, the shepherds stayed out with their sheep, walking round and helping the mother sheep to give birth . In this experiment, television cameras are used to scan the sheep, and the shepherds are looking at a television monitor which is automatically controlled.
The system has several advantages . Shepherds do not have to wale among the
sheep ,which tends to disturb the mother sheep that are about to give birth . Instead ,they can stay inside ,watching by remote control . If there is no problem, they stay away from foxes .The experiment is popular with shepherds because it means that they do not have to spend all their time outdoors waiting for the lambs to arrive in freezing weather.
The monitoring system is rented for the few months when the lambs are born .The cost is high, but the farm manager estimates that, since lambs are so valuable, and if about ten more lambs are saved than in a usual year, the experiment will be financially worthwhile .At the same time, the experiment may show that it is possible to make a saving in manpower, especially when a large number of sheep are involved.
26 .The main purpose of using a television monitor to watch the sheep is ______.

B. can help the mother sheep to give birth to more lambs

D. usually disturbs the mother sheep that will give birth
29 .The shepherds like to use the remote control system because _____.
A. their sheep will not be attacked by wild animals

Questions 31 to 35 are based on the following passge.
Careers for women should not be any different from careers for men . Decisions about gainful and satisfying employment for women should be made on the basis of individual interests and abilities . A variety of factors can help women find better jobs .
Women need better career planning and counseling (咨询) .They should be encouraged to develop personal goals that will enable them to compete for good jobs in light of their abilities ,desires, and training . Career guidance should begin at the
high school level, or even at the elementary school level, with the assistance of counselors, teachers ,and parents.
Some women must change their career goals ,Since openings(空缺)in the usual women’s occupations will not be enough to supply jobs for all women ,they must, in my view, choose men’s occupations . In the past, too many women were forced to settle for the second best . others were willing to settle for poorly-paid jobs because they felt that their stay in the labor force would be temporary .However, the situation is changing as more and more women realize that it is possible to combine the roles of wife , mother, and homemaker with that of a paid worker.
Employers’ attitudes to women’s roles and desires to work need to be changed.
Perhaps the important factor is the idea that employers, policymakers ,and others in our society have unfairly associated with the work patterns of women .They think that women are not seriously associated to the labor force, as they work only for pocket money . However , of the 33 million women in the labor force in March 1972, more than half were working because of their pressing economic state . Now in some areas women are still unfairly restricted in the kinds of jobs that provide them with fewer chances for advancement.

A . ask children to focus their attention on study

D .give children career counseling

A .to stay at home and do some housework

33 .Women have often settled for poorly-paid jobs because they____.
A .want to work only a few hours each day
B .do not expect to work very long
C .think their work is inferior
D .think their abilities are limited
34 .We can infer from the passage that men's jobs_____.
